If there is a series of books that I love the most out of all the series of books there could possibly be that I own or have read, it’s The Hollows series. Dead Witch Walking is book #1 of the series and it’s a wonderful start to a fantastic fantasy series that has just about everything you could imagine in it. This will be a lovely non spoiler review so let’s get into it.

All the creatures of the night gather in “the Hollows” of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party… and to feed.
Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining – and it’s Rachel Morgan’s job to keep that world civilized.
A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she’ll bring ’em back alive, dead… or undead.
Goodreads Description – Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
The series follows Rachel, a witch that breaks away from her job to work on her own. It’s an act that isn’t really allowed and you’ll learn why pretty fast. She’s the best flawed protagonist you could ask for and frankly I love her. She’s witty and sarcastic. She’s not perfect and makes mistakes along the way. But she’s loyal and loving to those that matter. With her is her friends Ivy, a living vampire (yes there are two kinds of vampires in this world) and Jenks, a pixy and a hilarious attitude.
In this book there is witches, werewolves, living vampires and undead vampires, pixies, fairies, elves and humans…leprechauns even! It’s one of the biggest worlds that I’ve seen in this type of fantasy. In these books the world is vastly different and for spoiler reasons I won’t go into details but it is what you could consider an AU version of our modern day.
“This is a witchocracy, not a democracy. Clear?”
Dead Witch Walking – Kim Harrison
It’s compelling, intriguing, and loaded with feels. You really find yourself invested in the characters and you see how they change and grow throughout the series. This book is a fantastic start though, it’s an adult genre, there is bad language and sex, but it’s hilarious and fun too.
I have a deep deep deeeeeep love of vampires, if there is a book about vampires I tend to get it just because. Even if it’s garbage or I don’t end up reading it. But I loved the way vampires are in this series because it’s unique while also familiar. All the different species of creatures in this world are interesting and well done.
“Bug?” Jenks shouted, incensed. “You sack of sweat stink. I’ve got farts that smell sweeter than you. Think you’re better than me? Poop ice cream cones, do you?”

I would highly recommend this book and this series! I have them all though shamefully I haven’t finished because it’s over and I don’t want it to be! One day I’ll finish the series and it will be a sad day indeed. In the meantime check it out on Goodreads and maybe buy it! You won’t be disappointed!!
This is also one of my favourite series too. I’m hoping to reread them all again at some point.
Oh yay! It’s so good!@
