It’s October 1st and that means that spooky season is upon us! Time for pumpkins, apple cider and fallen leaves. Not to mention the things that go bump in the night! Fall is one of the best times of year and October is the best start of it all. It’s also my birthday month so I’m kind of partial to it but for today’s post, since it’s been a bit, I thought I’d go over some of the books that are on my TBR for this month. Finger’s crossed I’ll actually get to read them all.
So I’ll start of with a book that I’m going to be reading this month for a readalong with the book server that I’m a mod for. The Book Cryptids ( I did a post about them, you can find it here). So the first book is We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. I am so excited to read this! I started The Haunting of Hill House and though I haven’t finished it, I do really enjoy her writing style so I’m looking forward to this one.
Then we have me coming back to a book that I actually posted about DNF’ing before, you can find that post here. House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski that I’ll be reading as a group buddy read on the book cryptids server. I’m stoked about this because it’s supposed to be a real mind fuck and honestly it’s the best time of year to dive into one of those.
Next we have a book that I’m going to be reading for a blog tour that I’m in, this one is actually coming up soon so I’m hoping to have this one finished soon but it’s Black Willows by Jill Hand. The plot certainly seemed interesting enough but you’ll just have to check back next week for my review!
The other book that I’m going to be reading this month is also for a blog tour and it’s one that I’m really excited for because I loved this authors previous book. It’s Finding Luca by Eva Mackenzie. I really enjoy her writing and she knows how to keep a reader engaged with the story so this one is going to be really fun. Look out for that review later this month.
I have so many more that I want to read so I’ll probably be doing another TBR post later once I’ve gotten some choices for a coming reathathon that book cryptids is hosting. I can’t wait to read more spooky books and really get into all the things that make this spooky season just the best season ever!
Do you have any spooky books lined up? I’d love to hear about them! Comment or find me on Twitter and let’s talk about them!
